Currently, orthopedic stem cell therapy is not covered by insurers.
I do anticipate that to change as the literature continues to grow supporting the usage of stem cells to improve pain and function, improve lifestyles and the most important thing to either delay or obviate the need for big surgical procedures that come with their own set of risks.
As that literature continues to develop, I do anticipate that insurance companies will likely take a hard look at it the way clinicians have.
At the end of the day if we can offer patients a better way to treat disease, a less invasive way to treat disease, a safer way, a more effective way to treat disease, then that’s certainly something worth looking into and I’m happy to discuss that with patients in the office.
Are you a candidate for orthopedic stem cell therapy?
I would be delighted to meet with you and talk about if this therapy is suitable for you.
Please complete the form below and someone from my office will get in touch with you.
In your appointment, you will receive an honest evaluation of whether I think you’d benefit from one of these procedures, either on its own or as a supplementary treatment to surgery.
