No, x-rays do not show rotator cuff tears.

X-rays show us the bones, and are able to tell us if you broke or dislocated anything, as well as if there is significant arthritis.

There are some secondary clues on x-ray that might suggest someone has rotator cuff disease, but it does not directly show whether the rotator cuff is torn or not. That would require an MRI.
